How to know when to delete your writing

by David M. Doolin, PhD on June 12, 2009 · 0 comments

Fast and simple rule:

If you ever agonize over a piece of writing, a sentence or paragraph, and you can’t figure out what it means, just delete it.

If you can’t figure it out, other readers are doomed.

Knowing what to keep isn’t as important as knowing what to throw away.
