ZRGViewer — Displaying PERT charts with graphviz

[Update March 5 2009] This post is the top search result on Google for ZRGViewer! That’s not right… They should be the top result for Google, not me! So I just went to take another look at ZRGViewer by following the link. Evidently, development continues, and the screenshots look good. I’d like to check it out again, and have it fire up in 6 seconds. Let’s see what happens.

I want to make a couple of small PERT charts, graphviz is the obvious choice.

Viewing graphs with zrgviewer looks like a great idea.

Looks cool, really.

Doesn’t work.

Loading a .dot file results in the error: it can’t find any of the relevant paths to the executables.

Examining the Preferences dialog shows that all the paths are, indeed, set.

FAIL.

Back to make + ms viewer. Not cool, but fast and accurate.
