Look! In the sky! It’s a bird! It’s plane! It’s pigs on the wing!
Check it out: I needed to print something on a strange printer, an HP 970Cse. I plugged it into my Dell laptop, it found the printer, connected to Windows Update, downloaded and installed the drivers within 90 seconds, and didn’t force a reboot. And didn’t even make itself the default printer.
This is seriously the first time this has ever worked as advertised for me. Since I didn’t actually expect it to work, I am absolutely elated.
I believe I may just take the rest of the day off.
